I still want to talk about the future.

This time to inform you about all that is in store for me this year. I feel that it will be an important year, in which my life will take unexplored paths. A "turning point," as they call it in technical jargon when writing a story: the moment when everything changes, when an event shifts the direction of the story and keeps us glued, waiting for the continuation.

This year I am looking forward to: a miniseries, a TV movie, a daily, various signing events, participation in literary festivals, the publication of 2 or 3 volumes of the saga of "the Ring of Saturn," and the new video game made by my video game company. Not to mention the rest: life, duties, small daily pleasures and above all a space for the unknown, for the unexpected.

I love arriving at least 10 minutes early for every appointment. I love to walk. I love having a bubble of emptiness in which to lose myself totally in observation, in contemplation of my surroundings and my inner self. Often, when I go to play chess at the Fig bar, I walk; it allows me to reactivate that vital freshness that then energizes me. And it makes me smile.

I then want to see my daughter grow up. Even now, that she is six and a half years old, it is a sight to get up and see that she thinks better than the day before. She knows how to behave, she understands that there are situations where certain things are done and others are not. She has a distinct talent for sports, expression, rhythm and music. But she is also picky about what clothes to wear. Yesterday she told me that one of her friends lent her stain remover to take off the lipstick she put on under her eyes to look like a zombie. She already has friends who lend her the stain remover! Life is really unstoppable.

In a month or so, I will finish filming "Ladies' Paradise" and devote much more time to the saga. I absolutely have to close it by the end of April, mid-May at the latest. I have the need to do this because I realize that the further I go in writing, the more the story takes on personal, independent contours that force me to go back and rewrite larger and larger pieces. I am sure that the last volume, just because of the way it is designed, will force me to revise many facets, not only of characters that are realized at most in the fourth volume, but of the work itself, of the message it conveys in its breadth.

For me, a work cannot but travel on several levels: of course, there is the direct one of words, events, passions and desires. There must be something more, something philosophical, something spiritual. Something that not only broadens the views, but opens the heart. A vision, if we can call it that, of the world in its complexity.

Here, I have to do all this by April! Running.
